Purani Jeans Guitar Lesson

Purani Jeans guitar lesson is taught by our beloved expert, Mike Walker, who explains all the different sections of the song in a section-by-section manner –from the intro that talks about the chords and different voicings of those chords, to the rhythms and solos of the song. The song is in Eb standard tuning and in the key of D major, which is a common tuning for the classic rock sound.

The intro of the song features a rhythmic riff that is based on the mixolydian scale, a major scale with the flattened seventh degree, which gives the riff a jazzy sound. The strumming and legato notes of the riff resemble those from songs like ‘Summer of '69’ and ‘Hey Joe’.

The song mostly features power chords, i.e. chords without the third, that are played on a distorted electric guitar and consist of standard shapes. The majority of the strumming is palm muted, which gives the song that rock-metal vibe. There are also a number of small overdubbed motifs that play over the rhythm guitar that embellish the progression.

Purani jeans also features a guitar solo that is based on the mixolydian scale, featuring jazz and bluesy licks and lines with minor 7th and half diminished chord arpeggios. This solo is a great example of how to mix different theory concepts in your soloing. The tutor here explains all the parts of the solo note for note.

The cast was handpicked by Maneesh Sharma; he wanted the audience to actually see a young, careless boy at the center of his story, so he chose Sushant Singh Rajput. Tamanna – Introduction

Welcome to the guitar lesson on a timeless Punjabi classic song loved and celebrated all over India. Tammana by Prabh Gill is a song about falling in love, where the singer is expressing his desires. This song is written in Punjabi and talks about love is a way that is transformative. In the chorus, the singer expresses his sole desire –the love should transform us in a way that we see god in each other. This is because the song is set in the traditional north indian culture where love has connotations of divinity and grandeur.

Tamanna Guitar Lesson

The guitar lesson on Tammana is brought by Mike Walker, wo explains all the guitar parts of the song, section by section. The initial sections talk about the chords and rhythm patterns of the song and in the sections that follow, the instructor goes on to explain the various guitar parts –chord voicings, solos, and fills that the song consists of.

The song is in the key of Bb Major, which means the way to play the chords of the song using standard shapes is by using a capo on the 1st fret. The chords of the song follow a minor key for the most part, and only in the chorus do they go to a more major sound. The tutor explains how to capture this movement well with the strumming pattern – D - UDUD - UDUD - DU (D is a downward strum and U is an upward strum.)

The special thing about this song is that it does not have drums in it, which means that all percussive effects are produced by the guitars and the bass. This leaves room for a lot of melodic motifs to fill the space left empty by the absence of drums. Hence, the song has multiple solos and melodic lines that sound beautiful.

Another special thing about this song is that it features a sitar solo near the end of the track, which, although it sounds difficult to play because of the signature picking technique, the instructor shows the way to play the sitar solo on a guitar in an easy way.

The pure hypnotic, mind-bending blues that the intro riff of Garaj Baras has is something that no other mainstream or even indie composer was able to replicate. One of the reasons why Junoon became such a huge band was the ability of the guitarist to come up with such great riffs that have the potential to redefine the music industry.

This intro came at just the right time when rock bands were struggling to leave their mark in the country, and its impact was such that it became the anthem of youthful rebellion. The intro riff is a 12-bar melodic passage that is rhythmically locked but at the same time artistically free. Before we head into this guitar lesson by Salman Ahmad, you need to understand that the intro riff is not a chord progression; it is a single-note melodic line that gets played over an implied harmonic movement.

What makes this riff so unique is how well the blue note blends in with the whole-step bends on the string. Fret the A string at 5, bend up one full step (to the pitch of fret 7), then go back to fret 5. To complete this entire thing, you roughly need one beat; the bend has to sound smooth and continuous. The return has to come back to the same pitch where you left.

Chords Used in Song Guitar Lesson

Here is the complete list of chords that you are going to use for this lesson

Implied harmonic chords (underneath the riff):

• Dm (D minor) — implied throughout the opening phrase.
• Am (A minor) — the relative major's minor, creating tension
• Gm (G minor) — appears in transitional moments.
