Mike Walker, born in Philadelphia, started playing guitar at 14 after being inspired by the great Randy Rhoads. He immersed himself in the Neo-Classical works of Malmsteen, Moore, ...and Macalpine. At 16, he was fascinated with tapping and listening to players like Stanley Jordan and started taking classical lessons. Fast forward two years later, he was studying under John Dougherty and started playing the Tri-State club circuit. He moved to Orlando in 1992 and formed the band World Wide Tribe, which was similar to Kings X and Living Color. From 1998 through 2001, he played with the funk band Squeezable Hugo. In 2001, he started Rule of 7, which went on to win the Grammy Unsigned Band Contest in 2005. Since 2005, he's been the studio guitarist for Play It Now Tunes, recreating more than 400 songs for the company.
