Today, let us stroll down memory lane and rediscover some of the most popular Arijit Singh songs.

About Arijit Singh

Arijit Singh, a renowned name in the music industry, is a playback singer and a music composer who has recorded songs in multiple languages, mainly in Hindi and Bengali. He comes from a family deeply rooted in music, fostering his passion for music from an early age. He began his music-learning journey when he was just 3, training with the Hazari brothers. Then, at the age of 9, he was awarded a government training scholarship for voice construction in classical music.

His foray into the world of music commenced with his participation in the reality show “Fame Gurukul” in 2005. He was just 18 when he left his hometown, Murshidabad, in pursuit of happiness, which for him was music. Although he didn’t win the show, he was showered with a lot of love from people and got a few projects in Bollywood, although they were ultimately shelved.

Then, he participated in another reality show, “10 Ke 10 Le Gaye Dil,” and won the show. With the prize money, Arijit built a studio room in Mumbai and started producing music for news channels, radio stations, and advertisements. Later, he transitioned to Bollywood by working with music directors such as Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Vishal-Shekhar, and Pritam.

While collaborating with other composers, he oversaw vocal arrangements and chorus sections. However, teaming up with Pritam changed everything. Arijit started singing more songs and learned to produce and program music independently. This garnered him a lot of appreciation and was the turning point of his life, which ultimately led to him being one of the most celebrated Bollywood singers today.

In one of his interviews, the ever-so-shy legend said, “My singing career happened by fluke.” This is because he wasn’t aware when his Bollywood debut track, “Phir Mohabbat,” was released in 2011. He mentioned that he had sung the song in 2009 but had forgotten about it. Only after his friend told him about the release did he get to know about it. “Even after it became a hit, my desire for playback didn’t grow; I was too busy programming music,” he says.

If you believe Arijit Singh’s talent is limited to music alone, you’re mistaken. Beyond his exceptional singing abilities, he excels as a writer, badminton player, and documentary filmmaker, showcasing a diverse range of talents and can be rightfully called a powerhouse of talent.

“I came into music because I loved it, not because I wanted to be famous.”
