Ken Gustafson
15 years experience in Piano Pop, New Orleans Style
Ken Gustafson was exposed to jazz piano giants Bill Evans, Dave Brubeck and Oscar Peterson at an early age. At age 9, Ken sang throughout Europe including a performance at the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris while traveling with the American Boys Choir and by 15, he began playing piano professionally with a variety of ensembles. While in high school Ken was selected for the All-State jazz band, which only selects one pianist in the entire state of Florida. Later Ken earned his bachelor degree in musical studies from the University of Miami and later his Masters in music from UCF. Over the years, Ken performed limited engagements with Shakira, Ben E King, Sam & Dave and Connie Francis along with several local artists and bands. Ken was then hired by Howl at the Moon to be an entertainer in their all-request, multi-genre, dueling piano, live entertainment format. He quickly rose to the level of Entertainment Director for the company and added drums, bass, acoustic and electric guitar to his already impressive skill set. Ken became a pillar of the Howl at the Moon Company and went on to assist in opening several stores in America and Europe. Ken has also trained several entertainers for careers in the music industry.
Ken is currently an adjunct faculty at the Daytona State University and continues to produce, perform and write his own original material. He often teaches music in the Orange County Schools and performs nightly at Howl at the Moon with his jazz band, the KG Trio.
