Amy May
6+ years experience in Acoustic, Pop, Song writing

British singer-songwriter Amy May was born into a musical family in the southwest England county of Cornwall. Her father was a skilled guitarist who wrote and performed songs during the '70s and Amy's uncle, a classical composer, taught her piano. Within the last few years she has performed on stages in New York, Los Angeles, across Europe and in far-flung Sydney, Thailand, Fiji and Dubai. Amy had her first hit, "Open," which rose to number one in the Female Singer/Songwriter chart on the music discovery site and MTV partner Ourstage.com. Fiercely independent, Amy put her music to the acid test by performing on the 3rd Street Promenade of Santa Monica, California, amid throngs of tourists, street acts and musical buskers. That's where an editor of the CWTV show "One Tree Hill" heard her, and worked Amy's song "Real" into the soundtrack of a Season-Nine episode that first aired in 2012.

Hot on the heels of her musical TV debut in One Tree Hill, Amy's music is now gaining popularity in the world of Film. Her music will be featured in three movies due for release this year, with two recently premiering at the 2012 Newport Beach Film Festival. Influenced by a host of great artists and acts spanning several generations-Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac, James Taylor, Jewel, Sarah MacLachlan, Alanis Morrisette and Dido, among others-Amy sings without a trace of British accent, straight from her heart. "It has been a humbling yet gratifying experience to be earning my living from how well I can instill deep emotion in those around me," she says. "I wouldn't trade it for anything."
